OPINION/COMMENTARY
Medicaid Cuts:
Illinois has 8.4 Million people on Medicaid. That is about 1/3 of the state. The system wasn't designed for that. Chicago gives Medicaid to able bodied ILLEGALS. The system wasn't designed for that. California funds sex change operations got ILLEGALS paid for via Medicaid. Kamala Harris promoted that. The system wasn't designed for that either.
If you are crying over proposed Medicaid cuts, you should have been crying with the rest of us when the Blue States started backdoor nationalizing Healthcare and making Medicaid a way to fund their lawlessness and get votes and Federal money. Now the Federal money had run out, so, chain saw cuts have to be made. Yes, it's probably gonna hurt some of the people the SYSTEM actually was DESIGNED for.
We shouldn't have gotten here, but the system ran the way it is now is UNSUSTAINABLE.
CUT, CUT, CUT!!! My Mother can't get MEDICAID, but if she was ILLEGAL SHE could become my LATE FATHER ...
AND DEMOCRATS TELL ME I POST STUPID STUFF. STUPID TO THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE IGNORANT AND STUPID.

RESEARCH:
Who Is Qualified For Medicaid
Medicaid is a state and federally funded program that provides health coverage to eligible low-income individuals and families. It is meant for:
- Low-income individuals and families
- Children (including through the Children's Health Insurance Program, or CHIP)
- Pregnant women
- Elderly individuals (especially those needing long-term care)
- People with disabilities
General Eligibility Criteria:
Eligibility varies by state, but common factors include:
- Income Level: Based on the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) and household size
- Household Composition: Number of dependents or family members
- Disability Status: Those with disabilities often qualify regardless of income
- Age and Pregnancy: Special eligibility for pregnant women, children, and the elderly
- Residency and Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or qualified non-citizen and reside in the state where applying
Some states have expanded Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), allowing more low-income adults to qualify. If you’re unsure about eligibility, you can check with your state’s Medicaid office or apply through HealthCare.gov.
Are ILLEGAL ALIENS Eligible For Medicaid?
In the United States, eligibility for Medicaid is generally restricted to individuals who are U.S. citizens, nationals, or certain qualified non-citizens. Illegal aliens, or undocumented immigrants, are typically not eligible for full Medicaid benefits. However, there are some exceptions and limited circumstances under which undocumented immigrants may receive emergency medical services:
1. Emergency Medicaid: Undocumented immigrants may be eligible for Emergency Medicaid, which covers the cost of emergency medical treatment for conditions that pose a serious threat to life or health. This includes labor and delivery services for pregnant women.
2. Pregnant Women and Children: Some states have chosen to extend coverage to pregnant women and children regardless of immigration status under the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) or state-funded programs.
3. State-Funded Programs: Certain states have created their own programs to provide health coverage to undocumented immigrants, particularly children and pregnant women. These programs are funded entirely by the state and do not use federal Medicaid funds.
4. COVID-19 Pandemic: During the COVID-19 pandemic, some states expanded access to testing and treatment for COVID-19 to all residents, regardless of immigration status, using federal relief funds.
It's important to note that policies can vary significantly by state, and some states may have more inclusive policies than others. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, it is advisable to consult the specific Medicaid agency or a legal expert in the state in question.
